In September 2026, Motueka Farm Machinery 2026 Limited began a new chapter for a business that has been part of the Motueka farming community for more than 40 years. Founded by George and Dee Sturgeon, Motueka Farm Machinery grew from humble beginnings into a well-known and trusted name throughout the Top of the South Island. Over four decades, they built the business around something that matters in farming — knowing their customers, understanding their machinery and being there when they were needed. Now, after more than 40 years in the business, George and Dee have made the decision to retire and hand the business on.
We are proud to be carrying their work forward.
Continuing what was started
Motueka Farm Machinery 2026 Limited is a new business, but we are certainly not starting from scratch.
Our goal is to build on the strong foundations George and Dee created, while developing the business for the future and creating a place for their son, Brad, to continue his career in the industry. Brad has worked alongside his parents for more than 20 years and brings extensive experience in agricultural machinery, including many years working with Landini and McCormick products. As our Service Manager, Brad will continue to be a familiar face for customers and will remain closely involved with the day-to-day service and workshop side of the business.
For our customers, that means experience and local knowledge remain at the heart of Motueka Farm Machinery.
New ownership, local focus
Motueka Farm Machinery 2026 Limited is owned by Gayne Carroll, who also owns Agtek Limited, an independent New Zealand machinery business and distributor for Basak, Goldoni, TYM and Orizzonti.
The connection with Agtek gives Motueka Farm Machinery access to additional resources, product knowledge, parts support and industry experience, while allowing us to maintain the local focus that has always been important to the Motueka business.
Our intention isn't to change what customers value about Motueka Farm Machinery — it's to build on it.
We want to continue developing a business that is practical, approachable and focused on supporting the people who rely on their machinery every day.
Parts, Service & Sales
Motueka Farm Machinery 2026 Limited will continue to provide parts, servicing, repairs and machinery sales to farmers, growers, contractors and rural customers throughout the region. Our experienced workshop team understands that agricultural machinery isn't something that can simply sit waiting for a repair. When machinery stops, work stops.
That's why our focus is on providing knowledgeable advice, quality parts, and dependable service, backed by people who understand the machinery and the conditions our customers work in. With the support of AGTEK we’ll have access to the largest range and stock holding of Landini & McCormick parts in New Zealand.
